The quest for MAN to make life easier has always being in his nature, the same goes for communication.

HISTORY

The word Intercom was forged from "internal Communication". 
It all started with the desire to pass information and messages without moving from one place to another, that led to the invention of the "pull rope". The pull rope was a thin rope with two ends, one end was a rope, the other end a bell. When the sender pulls the rope, the bell rings on the other end. This was not convenient giving the noise and the fact that it was a one way communication. Pull Rope didn't solve the problem at hand as one hand to.walk to the other end of a building to be able to communicate. 


There after it was modernised to the buzzer, this too didn't quench the thirst for a stress free communication as one still had to walk up and down just to get or pass an information.
Yet time passed and still no 2 way communication, the concern gave room for more research and development that led to a voice tube. The voice tube is a pipe that runs from one place to another allowing people to talk back and forth with each other from different ends of the building. 

In the 19th century, a French scientists Jean Baptiste Biot carried out numerous research and tasted his theory the water side of his home city in Paris.  He discovered from his experiment that small pipes can transport clear sounds that big pipes cannot. This is a big breakthrough in the telecommunications industry, setting a pact for telecommunications Devices, especially the wireless Intercom. 



Thereafter from 1849 and beyond scientists in the likes of Antonio Meucci, Gutta Percha, Robert Raymond, improved the system from little pipes to voice tubes. It was used for a while, faults were detected, corrected and studied, it paved way for improvement. In 1894, Kellogg Switchboard and supply company added a ear and mouth piece to the voice tubes. It looked like and old candle stick. 

The beginning of Modern Electronic Wireless Intercomm was the "Boss to Secretary Device". Produced by Allan C. Bernstein the founder of Adams Laboratories. The system has two landlines connected together with the help of wires that transmit audio. It was a two way communication but could only be used by 2 individuals.
