Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is an electronic device that stores security camera Footages. A DVR receives raw data from the camera and processes the data to viewing stage with the use of a hard drive instead of video tapes. 


The DVR records, saves and play back Television programs. This system works mainly with the Analog CCTV camera. It rely on the AD encoder, which is responsible for processing the raw data streaming, from the camera into legible video.


The Network Video Recorder is an electronic device that functions with the CCTV camera, it also performs the function of storing camera  footages. The NVR recieved processed footages from the camera. It functions mainly with the IP CCTV camera
